Lyrics

God Don't Make Junk

God Don't Make Junk

Verse 1.

I know you don't approve of me

You judge only by what you see

You look at the exterior

And say that I'm inferior

Too short too tall too fat too thin

Not part of the clique you don't fit in

You call me a rebel a misfit a punk

But God made me and God don't make junk

Verse 2.

You tell me I don't measure up

That I'm not made of the right stuff

Not good enough not like the rest

Call me dirt and say I'm second best

Too black too white too yellow too brown

You don't dress right not from the right part of town

You call me an outcast and say my ship is sunk

But God made me and God don't make junk

Verse 3.

You laugh at me and call me names

Mock me and tell me I'm insane

A wanna be a wimp a geek

A has been a loser a freak

Too smart too dumb too young too old

Don't speak the right tongue don't fit the mold

I may not be like you and that might put you in a funk

But God made me and God don't make junk

Bridge:

God formed man from the dust of the earth

Breathed into him the breath of life and gave him worth

Man did not evolve from a monkey or a skunk

God made man and God don't make junk

Ending:

I may not be a picture perfect fashion model or a hunk

But God made me and God don't make junk

I may not be a famous scientist brave leader or a monk

But God made me and God don't make junk

I may not have world renown or great wealth hid in a trunk

But God made me and God don't make junk

God made me and God don't make junk

God made me and God don't make junk

This song addresses the judging and finger pointing that go on in our society and how this de-values human beings who are made by God, in His image. Each individual is unique and has a unique identity and purpose. We dare not criticize what God has made because God don't make junk!

Sell Anything

Sell Anything

Verse 1.

Said the merchant to the ad-man - I need your help

I'm inundated with goods - they're piled high on my shelf

It's a retailer's nightmare - I must soon rectify

Sales are low business is slow - I need to know the reason why

Verse 2.

It's plan as day said the ad-man - any fool would understand

These shop worn goods - are simply not in demand

But don't worry said the ad-man - laughing with delight

You can sell anything if you package it right

Chorus:

Tell them it's a bargain - tell them it's a steal

That they just can't live without it - that it's got sex appeal

Human nature's drawn to trinkets - that gleam and glisten bright

You can sell anything if you package it right

Verse 3.

So they polished up their goods - made them sparkle and shine

Easy credit mark-down sales - priced them $9.99

Ran ads in the papers - billboards everywhere in sight

TV commercials do wonders - if you package it right

Verse 4.

Success cried the merchant - my ship's come in at last

Thanks to the power of suggestion - I've turned this trash into cash

I've learned that gimmicks fads and clever ads - seduce and entice

Got supply create demand - just learn to package it right

Verse 5.

Do you have something to sell - I don't care what it might be

Tell the consumer they must have one - manipulate their greed

Second-rate out of date - bad for your health or over priced

You can sell anything if you package it right

Anne's thoughts on this song: Walk through the mall. Turn on the TV or radio. Drive down the highway. Page through a newspaper or magazine. Lots of cool stuff to buy and tons and tons of junk.

Bob's thoughts: This song reflects the state of marketing in our society.

We All Need A Hand To Hold

We All Need A Hand To Hold

Verse 1.

It was the summer of '73 - the last time that he saw him

Someday you'll come crawling back to me - he heard his father calling

He thought if he could hide his feelings away - in time his father's memory would fade

And he's waiting

Verse 2.

His family knows he's in a lot of pain - but he never lets them see it

They're worried but he says he's doing ok - and he tries hard to believe it

But he knows that he's been living a lie - he sees the fear inside his own child's eyes

And he's waiting

Chorus:

Sometimes in the night - he sees himself as a child

He's scared and so alone - he wants to talk for a while

He tries to cry but can't - there's something he was told

No matter who you are - we all need a hand to hold

Verse 3.

For the first time he's asking for help - he always was taught to keep it inside

He don't know how - but he knows he's going to try

He tells the boy - sometimes it's ok for a man to cry

And he's waiting

Bill's thoughts on this song - Sadly child abuse is largely handed down from generation to generation and the only way to break the cycle is when someone is brave enough to ask for help. No one can make it through this world alone and there is no shame in asking for help. This is the story of one man's journey from victim to abuser and finally forgiveness.

"Keeping the pain inside is not a sign of bravery....asking for help is.

Calm Before The Storm

Calm Before The Storm

Verse 1.

She walked into the crowded room - smoke filled the air

Popularity was her god - right or wrong she did not care

But soon the end it came - without a sound

All the friends she thought she had - they were not around

She saw a Man -  she heard of long ago

With tear filled eyes - He said you I do not know

Pre-Chorus:

What more can do - when life has turned on you

Tell me now is it true

Chorus:

It's the calm before the storm

One night and it's all gone

The calm before the storm

One night you're gone - you're gone

Verse 2.

When the sirens came - she was scared but felt no pain

Everything just turned to black

She saw the car in flames - childhood memories bring back pain

Now she knows she can't go back

Verse 3.

She saw her life go by - through a child's eyes

Now she's overcome with fear

The tears roll down her face - because she knows this place

She cries and cries but no one hears

Verse 4.

And now it's time to choose - because it could be you

Are you going to slam the door

Will you stand there proud - and scream there is no God

You say there's no Hell but are you sure

Pre-Chorus:

What more can you do - when life has turned on you

Tell me now is it true

Chorus:

It's the calm before the storm

One night and it's all gone

The calm before the storm

One night you're gone - you're gone

Bill's thoughts on this song:

Calm Before The Storm is a sad song about a girl that was given chance after chance to hear about Jesus and the Way to Heaven and chose to turn Him away. She chose popularity over the Truth and after a fatal car crash she finds out 3 seconds after death that Heaven and Hell are very real places. It would have been sooo easy to accept Jesus but now it's too late for her... a song of warning.

Tell me now is it true.

Where There's A Will

Where There's A Will

Verse 1.

They paint a dark picture - they say it can't be done

The competition is stiff - the course is long and hard in the race that you must run

And you're a real long shot - born on the wrong side of the tracks

They put you down when you're not around - they laugh behind your back

Verse 2.

Now you may stumble and fall - you might make a few mistakes

Don't be discouraged get back up on your feet - you got just what it takes

Make no excuse - make no apologies

Don't yourself short don't take no for an answer - strength of mind is what you need

Chorus:

Fix your eyes on the goal - pursue your dreams with determination

Remember faith and perseverance - is the winning combination

Fight with all your might - work sacrifice and pray

Don't give up - where there's a will there is a way

Verse 3.

In the heat of the battle - when the going gets tough

When you're hopelessly outnumbered back's against the wall - don't say enough's  enough

Don't back down - don't succumb to defeat

Stick to your guns surrender no ground - soon victory will be sweet

Anne's thoughts on the song:

Wolves

Wolves

Verse 1.

They look so good - seems they do everything right

Like their father the devil - they come as angels of light

Every letter of the law - they seem to obey

But inside they're ravenous wolves - don't listen to a word they say

Chorus:

Wolves in sheep's clothing - wicked cruel and vain

Everywhere they go - they bring trouble and shame

Like white washed tombs - they look beautiful to men

But they're filled with dead men's bones - death and filthiness within

Verse 2.

They take your money - and they waste your time

Hypocrites and liars - they poison your mind

Brazen and corrupt - they lead many astray

They beguile the weak - on the lonely they prey

Bridge:

How shall you know them - you'll know them by their fruit

Can a fig tree bear thorns - or sweet come from bitter root

They'll devour the widow's mite - proud and covetous of heart

They'll make merchandise of you - and then tear you apart

Anne's thoughts on this song:

The wolf is a predator. Sheep are prey. Our world is full of predators disguised as the very ones they prey on. They are in all walks of life but are especially vicious when they are false spiritual leaders. Jesus warned us about them in the Scriptures. (Matthew 7:15)

The Sun Will Shine Again

The Sun Will Shine Again

Verse 1.

Let me tell you a story 'bout a guy named Gordy back in 1963

Born in New York City no his life wasn't pretty 'bout as bad as it could be

The troubles that he faced each day were too much for him to swim

He might have given up on God but God didn't give up on him

As the years went by Gordy learned to survive felt someone was always near

Then on stormy night asked God into his life and he finally saw things clear

City kids have troubles that Gordy understands

He knew that he could reach them and he finally saw God's plan

Chorus:

I won't let you down but sometimes some rain must fall

Sometimes some rain is gonna fall

If you only put your faith in Me it'll work out in the end

This too will pass the sun will shine again

Verse 2.

There's a suitcase sittin' in the big white kitchen of a former happy home

What she thought would last now is in the past and it left her all alone

Felt like God had abandoned her her heart began to sink

But she couldn't see the big picture God cares more than you think

Though her heart was breaking and her nerves were shaken

She taught herself to sing

How her heart went wild when she saw the smiles

And the joy her songs could bring

What she found was so much more than what she lost could ever be

It wasn't what she was looking for but exactly what she needs

Chorus:

Bridge:

Right now someone's writing the last letter of their life

You're tired and angry and lonely and you just can't make it right

You talked but no one listened looks like you've failed again

The pills are in your hand you just want the pain to end

They never understood you that's why you want to die

You waited all your life for someone to say I'm glad that your alive

Someone has been listening and knows what you've been through

He heard your prayers and seen your tears and this song is just for you

I've got a message just for you don't give up the fight

You are meant to touch someone you will change their life

Someone's out there looking for someone just like you

You need each other then you'll see God's plan in total truth

God cares and that's the truth

This song is just for you

Bill's thoughts on this song:

This song is about God's love for us, sometimes in order to get to where we need to be in life we have to go through some unpleasant things, but we can't see the big picture, only God can and God's vision of the big picture is much more beautiful than we could ever imagine. Without the painful experiences we have gone through we would not be the same people we are now. God doesn't promise it will be an easy path in life but He does promise He will help us through and never abandon us.

Wake Up

Wake Up

Verse 1.

Can't you smell the smoke can't you feel the heat

Don't you know you're in great danger wake up from your sleep

Can't you hear your neighbor calling calling you by name

Can't you see it's a raging inferno engulfing you in flame

Chorus:

Wake up the house is on fire burning with the fire of Hell

Wake up the flame's getting higher heed the warning break the spell

Get up get out while you can still escape

Wake up right now before it's too late

Verse 2.

Don't try to save your possessions get out while you can

No time for asking questions no time to make demands

This is no false alarm shake of complacency

Every moment is of the essence your life's in jeopardy
